Madness scores and highlights!

The Madness has begun! We’re pulling up mid-week to shoot you the latest scores and highlights. Any shopping is a score for the charity mentioned at our registers – but make sure you do it this week! See bracket and team scores below.

West SF Division

The SF YMCA was not only the favorite but it also mobilized its fans in a big way over the last four days – Avon fans still have a chance to walk on down to a local Sports Basement to make it close(r).

Our staff have seen TNT fans armed with paper reminders – great play calling, TNT. But the SF Rec & Park is a resourceful 6 seed with roots all over the city.

It’s anybody’s game between the Boys & Girls Club and The Guardsmen – who ever can get 10-20 of their fans to shop this weekend will probably win.

Even though 2 seed ALC has been out-played by TNT so far they’re looking good in their match up against fan favorite Girls on the Run. Prediction: ALC sends a blast out to their fans and goes on a scoring spree this weekend and Girls on the Run starts scoring after a slow start.

East SF Division

Holy cow watch out for the SF Schools – these kids know how to play! The SPCA can still bark it’s way into some funds this weekend.

On the other hand we’ve got a defensive struggle between the Girl and Boy Scouts and Project Inform. It’s anyone’s ball game to make it into the sweet sixteen.

Not too far behind is the America Scores and Black Rock Arts Foundation match up. Will America Scores be true to its name or will the BRAF design a way to get it’s supporters to the stores?

We weren’t sure of the scoring power of the 3 seed Police and Fire team but they’ve taken off the hand cuffs against their opponent BuildOn – keep building!

South Bay Division

Go Team! is being cheered at the registers in the Sunnyvale Sports Basement – can the Alzheimer’s Assoc. rally from behind?

The Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee hasn’t organized many trips to the store yet but we think this group is a sleeping giant. Then again the 6 seed American Heart Association could pull off a great upset if they keep up the beat.

Asha for Education¬†is one of the strongest regional teams, if they keep scoring they could get Bay Area-wide recognition. Standing in their way is the American Diabetes Assoc. – a big team but they haven’t gotten their game together¬†yet.

At the head of the whole division the Silicon Valley Tri Club knows how to finish a race. This doesn’t bode well for BAWSI unless they can outrun SVTC to the finish.

East Bay Division

The WC Education Foundations (WCEF and PEAK) are having a great tournament so far but it’s still possible for the animal rescue team (EBARR and ARF) to let the dogs out (sorry had to say it).

Apparently a Military supporter marched down to the store and did more shopping than most of us do all day – but the Swim Clubs have great technique so expect a close finish this weekend.

In the best 4 vs. 5 seed match up the WC Police and Fire supporters are taking advantage of the Girl Scout cookie distractions to take a solid lead. Prediction: The Girl Scouts start telling cookie buyers to support them at SB and win it at the buzzer.

In the closest 2 vs. 7 seed match up the East Bay TNTers are doing well but they’re leaving a lane open for the East Bay Bike Coalition to pass them and become the Cinderella story of the tournament.
