Animal Live Streams in the Bay Area and Beyond!

Title text: Shelter in the Greatest Place over a triplicate photo from several animal live streams showing some pandas, a buffalo, and some brown bears.

This list was curated by the one and only Panda Anne, emcee extraordinaire and everyone's favorite SB staffer.

Let's start local! Check out the Cal Falcons at UC Berkeley.

  • Peregrine Falcons, the worlds’ fastest bird, were almost completely wiped out from the western United States by the 1970’s. With the federal ban of DDT, populations have begun to recover and many falcons have traded in natural cliffs and mountains for hunting in skyscraper “canyons” in many cities. Let's head north (like really, really north) to see some Brown Bears in Alaska!

  • Some of the cams are currently down, but they have amazing highlight reels that are awesome to watch!Brown bear with cub on a river bank.

Can't pass up the opportunity for Pandas, of course.

  • Watch the Smithsonian's National Zoo's Panda Cams, where you can view giant pandas Tian Tian and Mei Xiang. Please note that while the cameras stream live 24 hours a day, FONZ volunteer operators will only be following the pandas during regular business hours. Be sure to toggle back and forth between Panda Cam 1 and Panda Cam 2 using the tabs at the top of the video player to get the full Panda Cam experience.two pandas at the Smithsonian zoo

And lastly, let's head back west to Illinois for some wild Bison!

  • EarthCam teamed up with the U.S. Forest Service to take visitors to the heart of the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie in northeast Illinois with live webcam views. Peek in on a small herd of bison, which was introduced as a 20-year experiment in restoring the landscape to the native tallgrass prairie. Between the hours of 6am-6pm local time (that's 4am-4pm here), track the herd as they graze, which is essential to reviving and sustaining a more diverse habitat for birds.Bisonn in a field.
